Freshmen
NCCS has put together the following timeline to assist students and parents in making good decisions during High School that will make the transition to college easier and less stressful.
9th Grade
- Focus on Grade/GPA - You must have a 3.0 GPA in your core classes as a Senior to qualify for the HOPE Scholarship.
- Choose a rigorous course load based upon your ability level and future aspirations.
- Get involved in extra-curricular activities.
- Sign up for community service.
- Take the EXPLORE test in October.
- Utilize the information gained through the Pathways Testing, All About Me Project, College and Career Project, Study Skills and the Explore class.
- Develop a file with all your report cards, community service hours, awards, recognitions, extra-curricular activities, leadership positions, etc.
- Attend the PROBE and National College Fairs as they become available.
- Participate in the Christian College Fair visit coordinated by NCCS.
- Be involved and attentive during Career Day.
