Curriculum

The upper school uses a variety of publishers to meet our curricular goals. Textbooks are tools; they are not the curriculum. The curriculum has been designed over the years by teams of qualified educators to provide biblically integrated, college preparatory level courses that meet or exceed state standards. As the student progresses from the middle school into the upper school they are exposed to higher levels of learning and critical thinking. Every student who graduates from NCCS earns a college preparatory diploma.

We believe students need to be excellent readers. We have built an outstanding reading program that begins in our early grades and is carried through the middle and upper school. Writing skills are also paramount in preparing students for the challenges they will face in the future. We focus on developing these skills at each grade level.

Spiritually, we prepare students with a thoroughly integrated biblical worldview in each course. Our students take a Bible class each year.  We conduct weekly chapels in which we train students as leaders in worship and service as part of the Praise team, speaking opportunities, and other leadership roles. Our Upper School students are all involved in Spring Term. They will serve either abroad or domestically through involvement with ministry, missions, and educational opportunities.
